Asia, the seat of every major non-Christian religion, remains the darkest and most challenging territory to the cause of Christ and represents the greatest remaining stronghold of Satan. Terrorist organizations, government corruption and child prostitution run rampant in many of these nations of Asia, yet only a tiny fraction of every dollar spent on missions goes to this desperately needy area of the world. Asia has over 50 countries and a total population of 4.15 billion. Nearly two-thirds of the world live on the continent of Asia. Of approximately 6,600 total unreached people groups in the world, 76% of unreached people groups live in Asia. Excluding the nations of the Middle East and Central Asia (MECA), there are 30 remaining countries with a total population of 3.62 billion people. Of that population, 1.93 billion people are unreached. In these 30 countries there are over 6,100 ethnic people groups with distinct traditions and customs. Over 4,200 of these people groups are considered unreached. Economically, Asia ranges from the sophisticated, high-tech economies of Japan and South Korea to the more rural lifestyle found in places like Mongolia and Cambodia, to the emerging mega-economies of China and India. Geographically, Asia boasts the highest mountains in the world, the Himalayans that border Tibet, with hot and humid tropical locales along the Pacific Rim.
